Our Team

Grace Hardy
Founder - Executive Director - Producer
Grace Hardy is a proud member of the Kikino Métis Settlement with a lifelong passion for artistic expression and community engagement.
She began her journey in the creative arts by studying makeup artistry at
Vancouver’s Blanche MacDonald Centre, which led to diverse experiences in retail, music video sets, and wellness television, deepening her appreciation for storytelling through visual art.
Her focus evolved towards community and cultural engagement, where she held pivotal roles in indigenous organizations and spaces, including The Metis Nation of Alberta, Whitefish Lake First Nations #128 and most recently, the executive director and producer at Tantoo Cardinal's Tap Root Actors Academy. There, she developed the organization with a collaborative team that implemented youth programming, collaborating with film industry mentors and most importantly - local community members to build programming, produce 6+ short films and foster creative expression. Grace dedicated over six years in this role which ignited her commitment to youth empowerment and the importance of cultural storytelling in community.
In the summer of 2025, Grace founded The White Poplar Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Indigenous youth through immersive programming in storytelling, art, cultural traditions, and community building. This initiative creates safe spaces for young people to build confidence, explore their identities, and express their creativity.
Grace envisions inclusive, culturally rich opportunities that inspire creativity and strengthen connections to community and culture, uplifting the next generation of Indigenous youth. With a solid foundation in the nonprofit sector and a wealth of experience, she continues to work collaboratively with youth and community to co-create empowering spaces that honour tradition, community, creativity, and storytelling.
