Storytelling Through Film Program
Our Storytelling Through Film Program is a program for youth ages 8–24, offering mentorship and hands-on training in every step of the filmmaking process, from scriptwriting and acting to directing, production, and design.
The Storytelling for film program will focus on growing skills, building confidence in our storytellers, fostering cultural and community revitalization through supportive creative practices and collaborative development. We believe the indigenous film sector can exist in indigenous communities and we're excited to build this program on that belief.
Oskinikiw Community Youth Program
The Oskinikiw Community Youth Program, created in partnership with the Kikino Council and Administration, supports youth ages 11–24 in exploring both traditional and contemporary art forms. Through workshops in music, dance, visual arts, digital media, and traditional crafts, having young people engage with cultural teachings while developing their own unique voices as artists and performers.
The Community Youth Program will also support youth in grounding themselves in cultural traditions while preparing for the future. Workshops in Cree language, land-based learning, cultural knowledge, health and wellness, and employment skills ensure that participants are nurtured in their identities while gaining tools to navigate today’s world with strength and pride.
